Verist Continues to Expand Capabilities and Deliver Results Across Key Strategic Initiatives | July 2026

Verist continued its strong momentum throughout July with significant progress across underwriting, claims, risk advisory, and business development. The company secured several new accounts within its core Real Estate and Hospitality industry verticals, demonstrating continued demand for Verist’s specialized underwriting expertise, customized insurance solutions, and enhanced white-glove service. These new business wins reinforce the organization’s ability to compete successfully on complex risks while delivering exceptional value to brokers and clients alike.

The month also marked several important strategic milestones. Verist welcomed Neil Huber to its Claims leadership team, further strengthening its technical claims capabilities with decades of experience managing complex casualty and litigation matters. In addition, the company officially launched RiskSphere, its integrated risk advisory and consulting platform, which combines analytics, AI-driven insights, and strategic advisory services to help clients proactively identify, manage, and reduce risk exposures.

Verist also expanded its Workers’ Compensation platform with the introduction of a dedicated Retail & Wholesale industry vertical. The new offering reflects the company’s continued investment in specialized underwriting expertise and industry-focused solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of clients and broker partners.

Overall, July was another milestone month for Verist, highlighting the organization’s continued execution of its long-term strategy: expanding specialized underwriting capabilities, enhancing claims and advisory services, investing in innovative solutions, and delivering differentiated value to clients and brokers through expertise, responsiveness, and a service-first approach.

About the Author

Adam Bergen, Verist Head of Distribution and Business Development is based in Los Angeles, CA and is tasked with helping Verist build out their broker and client distribution network nationally. Chiefly, he’ll be responsible for establishing strategic partnerships and working alongside internal stakeholders to provide innovative and bespoke products to brokers and clients.

Mr. Bergen joined Verist from Sompo International where his position was SVP, Head of Client Management (Global Markets), based in London, UK. Mr. Bergen joined Sompo in 2017 and held various roles spanning across Underwriting, Business Development and Client Management. Throughout Mr. Bergen’s tenure at Sompo he was based initially in New York, NY, then Los Angeles, CA and most recently in London, UK in different leadership roles.

Mr. Bergen began his career in 2009 at a wholesale brokerage firm in greater New York, developing relationships with retail brokers across the United States. In 2012, he was hired by Marsh & McLennan (New York) as Vice President of Property Placement. In 2015 he was recruited to Starr Specialty (New York) as a Senior Property Underwriter where he was able to round out his insurance background more fully.

Mr. Bergen holds an undergraduate degree in History from Carleton University (Canada) and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickenson University (New Jersey, USA).
