Verist continued its growth trajectory in June 2026 with key leadership additions, expanded service offerings, and several notable insurance placements.

The company strengthened its underwriting team with the addition of Katherine Pena as Director of Underwriting and Malcolm Dock as AVP of Underwriting, enhancing support for brokers across the Southeast, New York, New Jersey, and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Verist also expanded its industry resources through the launch of a weekly Life Sciences newsletter led by Jide Osifekun, Head of Life Sciences. The publication provides market insights and updates relevant to the sector.

In addition, Verist Services LLC introduced specialized Code Rule 59 consulting services designed to help New York employers improve workplace safety and maintain regulatory compliance.

Recent business wins included insurance programs for commercial real estate and property management organizations, showcasing Verist’s expertise in delivering customized General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto, and Umbrella solutions.

These developments reflect Verist’s ongoing commitment to expanding its capabilities, supporting brokers, and providing specialized risk solutions across its core industries.

About the Author

Adam Bergen, Verist Head of Distribution and Business Development is based in Los Angeles, CA and is tasked with helping Verist build out their broker and client distribution network nationally. Chiefly, he’ll be responsible for establishing strategic partnerships and working alongside internal stakeholders to provide innovative and bespoke products to brokers and clients.

Mr. Bergen joined Verist from Sompo International where his position was SVP, Head of Client Management (Global Markets), based in London, UK. Mr. Bergen joined Sompo in 2017 and held various roles spanning across Underwriting, Business Development and Client Management. Throughout Mr. Bergen’s tenure at Sompo he was based initially in New York, NY, then Los Angeles, CA and most recently in London, UK in different leadership roles.

Mr. Bergen began his career in 2009 at a wholesale brokerage firm in greater New York, developing relationships with retail brokers across the United States. In 2012, he was hired by Marsh & McLennan (New York) as Vice President of Property Placement. In 2015 he was recruited to Starr Specialty (New York) as a Senior Property Underwriter where he was able to round out his insurance background more fully.

Mr. Bergen holds an undergraduate degree in History from Carleton University (Canada) and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickenson University (New Jersey, USA).
